Seacat Leads Cardinal Men at Woodford Cross Country Trials

VERSAILLES, Ky. - Freshman Wes Seacat opened his collegiate career with a third-place finish to lead the University of Louisville men's cross country team at the Woodford Trials Friday evening in Versailles, Ky.
The Cardinals finished third with 58 points, just five points behind runner-up Eastern Kentucky (53). Host Kentucky won the four-team event with 26 points. Marshall was fourth with 99 points.
Seacat, a former New Albany High School standout, ran the 3.2 mile course in 16 minutes 26.60 seconds. Fellow freshman Chris Danks was the Cards' number two finisher with a 12th-place time of 16:52.20.
Rounding out the U of L scorers were redshirt freshman Chris Davis (13th), sophomore Tim Kaiser (14th) and sophomore Kyle Bowling (16th).
Kentucky's David Freeman won the 31-person race with a time of 16:19.30.
The Cardinals return to action September 13 when they travel to Nashville, Tenn., for the Commodore Invitational.
