LOUISVILLE, Ky. - Senior distance runner Tim Franxman was one of six student-athletes who were selected as recipients of a Conference USA Postgraduate Scholarship Awards. The league annually presents six $4,000 Postgraduate Scholarship awards to graduates as selected by the Faculty Athletics Representatives at the conference's annual Spring Meetings.
Franxman is a four-year letterwinner in both track and cross country and has served as team captain for both sports. The Taylor Mill, Ky., native has achieved a 3.65 GPA as a biology major at Louisville and plans to pursue a medical degree at the University of Kentucky College of Medicine.
This past year, Franxman was the team's top 1500-meter runner and recorded personal-best times in both the 800 and 1500. In the fall, he finished as the Cards' No. 2 runner at the NCAA Southeast Regional Cross Country Championships.
