What can I say? We had another unsuccessful weekend. We traveled to St. Louis and Memphis, and before leaving for the trip the team went out and did fun stuff. We played laser tag and went out to eat. I think everyone had a good time. It helped us regain team chemistry that we had been lacking, and the underclassmen were able to say goodbye to the seniors.
We had a great time when we arrived in St. Louis. The team went bowling, and Coach Huber, Amanda, and Sara beat everyone! We didn't win on Friday, but we gave great effort. Overall, we just didn't give up, and that is important. I think that will help us this coming weekend in the tournament.
Playing in the Pyramid on Sunday was good for us, because this week the conference tournament will be held there. Turnovers were a factor in this game, and next time we play we really have to take care of the ball. Coach Clapp wasn't able to be with us and I feel like the assistant coaches did a good job filling in. We found ourselves in foul trouble, and I fouled out for the second time this season. Losing two games is not something that we were happy about, but our bracket placement works out well for us. We play St. Louis in the first round, and I know this is a game we can win. Then we will play Depaul, and I think that we can also beat them. It's the best scenario for us. Our record is disappointing, being 14-13, but we're still hopeful. I believe that we can come back from this losing streak and surprise people. We have nothing to lose.
I haven't ever experienced a season like this. Losing has helped me learn a few things about teamwork. One person can have a tremendous effect on everyone else, and one individual cannot be looked upon to carry the team.
Tomorrow we leave to go back to Memphis for the tournament. I really don't want to come back to Louisville until this weekend. In order to go to the NCAA tournament we need to go all the way. All we have to do is believe. I want to thank everyone for their support this season.
