This weather is crazy! I hope that it isn't spoiling everyone's mood. I'm very anxious for the spring to arrive so that warm weather will be here. Today I removed the ice from my car, and it took about 30 minutes for my windshield to defrost. Scraping the ice off of my car was actually fun! This is my first ice storm experience.
Last Friday was Valentine's Day, and I hope everyone had a pleasant time! I went to a boxing match to see Laila Ali fight, and that was awesome. I've never seen so many loud, unique, and colorful outfits in one place! The whole night was great. We waited for her match for almost three hours. There were other fights that we had to sit through, and I think we were all glad for the main event to arrive. That was my first time at a boxing match, and I like Laila Ali's poise, attitude, and style. You can see her confidence by the way she handles herself. In fact, I had the opportunity to meet her today! My friend and I were at Oxmoor Mall, and I introduced myself when we saw her shopping. I wish that I had a camera! That was the highlight of my day!
Today was a full day. Besides meeting a professional boxer, I also learned how to drive a stick shift. My car is an automatic, and this was very different. For my first time I did a good job. The only problem I have is when I have to slow down and shift to a lower gear. Overall, I did a great job!
Yesterday we played Cincinnati, and it was a hard fought battle. One that didn't work out as we had planned. It was a physical game and every possession counted. The win was at our fingertips, and it just slipped away. Either team could have walked away with this victory. The fans watched an exciting game, as it had two overtimes! This was one that we needed and wanted to win. Now we have to rely on conference tournament play. This will be tough, but I believe that we can do it.
This weekend we face Depaul and Marquette at Cardinal Arena, and I am very excited about the game against Depaul. It is senior night, and my family is coming up to see it. I cannot wait to see my Legend! With the games being in Cardinal Arena the crowd support should be a factor, and I think we can come away with two more wins. Have a great week, and come support us this weekend!
