
Cann Becomes Cards' First Soccer All-American

Louisville, Ky. - University of Louisville senior Adrian Cann was named a second team All-American by College Soccer News. Cann becomes the first Louisville player to be named an All-American. Senior Simon Bird was named to the first team All-Great Lakes region by the NSCAA and becomes the first Cardinal to receive that honor. Cann was named to the second team All-Great Lakes region for the third consecutive season.
Cann, the preseason Conference USA Player of the Year, was named Co-Defensive Player of the Year for the second consecutive season. Cann helped the Cardinal defense to seven shutouts on the season. He was only player in school history to become a first team All-Conference USA selection for four consecutive seasons.
Bird finished the season with 12 goals and was named Conference USA Player of the Year. He ranks third all-time with 29 career goals, in his three seasons with the Cardinals. Bird was also named first team All-Conference USA this season.
