Hello everyone,
I hope that everyone is having a good new year. The team has been keeping busy preparing for games, and recently we have had some big wins. Last Thursday we played Vanderbilt at Freedom Hall, and the days of extra work paid off, as we were able to defeat them. It was nice, because last year we lost by 39 points. Coach Clapp recorded his 100th win in that game, and it couldn't have come at a better time.
Yesterday we faced Kentucky at home, and the atmosphere was great. The fans came out and supported us, and it was nice to see so many people come to watch us play. The first five minutes were tough. Both teams were hyped and the play was very physical. I had a lot of fun playing in this first half, because we went on a huge run. Players on the team stepped up, and I it was exciting to be involved. The SEC always brings good competition, and I look forward to the challenges they bring for me as a player. It gives me the chance to play against other competitive athletes.
These past two wins have really helped the team. I think that it gives us more confidence, and it also shows that we are developing into a good team. We are more able to work together, and hopefully this progress will continue. Playing teams talented like Vandy and Kentucky allows us to prepare for tough games that we have coming up in the season. We still have to play TCU and Cincinnati, both teams that defeated us last year. They are ranked at the top of our conference, but I know that we will be able to compete and be one of the top Conference USA teams also.
Hopefully everyone will come back out to support us for our game against Columbia, and this weekend we have a huge game at Cincinnati. I am looking forward to the match-ups that they bring, and fans should enjoy this. I look to make this my best game yet.
