Louisville, Ky. - University of Louisville women's basketball head coach Martin Clapp announced on Tuesday the addition of Greg Collins to his coaching staff.
Collins comes to Louisville after serving as an Assistant Athletic Director and assistant coach at DuPont Manual High School. Along with recruiting, Collins will be responsible for scouting and working with the post players.
"Greg fits in with the goal of hiring someone with Louisville ties," said head coach Martin Clapp. "He is a Louisville graduate and has followed us for many years. He is a tremendous student of the game and is an outstanding x's and o's coach who helped Manual reach consecutive appearances in the state final and semifinals. He has worked with some of the best players in the state."
Along with serving as an Assistant Athletic Director, Collins was the junior varsity head coach and assistant varsity coach. The Lady Crimsons advanced to the semifinals of the Sweet Sixteen in 2000 and recorded a runner-up finish in 2001.
Collins recorded a junior varsity record of 71-12 in five seasons. He also served as head of the Derek Smith All-Stars AAU.
With the addition of Collins, Roscelle Bullock will move into the Director of Basketball Operations position. Bullock replaces Sara White who resigned last month.
