Men's Tennis Falls to Ball State

MUNCIE, Ind. -- - The University of Louisivlle men's tennis team fell to Ball State 5-2 Thursday at Ball State.
The Ball State Cardinals swept the doubles as Jason Pressel and Kevin Burnett outlasted Louisville's Cody Conley and Octavian Nicodim 9-8(4) at the top seed. Chris Varga and Klint Knable defeated Alex Sivertsen and Paulo Carvalho 8-6 at No. 2. BSU's Brad Rhodes and Matt Laramore completed the sweep with an 8-6 win over Matt Mayer and Brent McCombe at No. 3.
In singles, Conley defeated Pressel 6-4, 6-4 at No. 1 and Sivertsen collected a 6-2, 6-4 win over Mike Heule at No. 6 for Lousville's only points. Ball State's Varga defeated Carvalho 6-3, 6-4 at the two-spot and Andrew Seni topped Nicodim 6-3, 6-1 at No. 3. U of L's Mayer fell to Burnett in three sets 6-3, 3-6, 6-1 at the four-seed while McCombe and Rhodes also battled to three sets at No. 5 before Rhodes edged McCombe 6-4, 4-6, 6-4.
Louisville (8-13) will play host to No. 14 Ohio State on Wednesday, April 3 at the Bass-Rudd Tennis Center at 4:00 p.m.
