
Men's Soccer Falls to East Carolina 3-2

Greenville, N.C. - The University of Louisville men's soccer team fell 3-2 at East Carolina on Sunday afternoon. The Cardinals fall to 2-8-1 and 0-2 in Conference USA.
Junior forward Nathan Stephens got the Cardinals on the board early, scoring on a header off a corner kick from Courtenay Commander in the sixth minute of play. Then freshman Matt Neely scored an unassisted goal in the 18th minute of play.
The Pirates' Brian Deutsch scored in the 32nd minute, leaving the Cards with a 2-1 lead at the half. Deutsch scored again in the 77th minute of play off a penalty kick to knot the score.
Then in the 82nd minute, ECU's David Broyles headed in the ball off a corner kick from Reed Avren for the game winner.
Freshman keeper Brad Sokolowski collected five saves for the game. The Pirates outshot the Cardinals 21-11.
The Cardinals will travel to Ohio State on Wednesday, Oct. 9 for a matchup at 7:15 p.m.
