
Nord Earns First Team Freshman All-American Honors

Louisville, Ky. - Louisville freshman point guard Sara Nord was named first team freshman All-American by Women's College Hoops. Nord joins Freshman of the Year Alana Beard of Duke on the team. Kelly Mazzante of Penn State, Nicole Ohlde of Kansas State and Christi Thomas of Georgia were all named to the team.
Nord led the team in assists, ranking fifth in the nation with 7.8 per game. Nord is also second on the team in scoring, averaging 14.0 per game.
Earlier this week Nord was named second team freshman All-American by the Women's Basketball Journal. Last week she was named a first team freshman All-American by the Women's Basketball News Service and a fourth team all-american. Nord became the second freshman in school history to earn first team all-conference honors, being named first team All-Conference USA last week.
