NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- The University of Louisville men's tennis team was edged 4-3 by Vanderbilt in collegiate tennis.
The Commodores won the top three singles matchups with Louisville taking No. 4 through No. 6. The clinching match was the 6-7 (2), 6-4, 6-2 three set win at No. 3 singles by VU's Chad Harris over Louisville's Paulo Carvalho.
Cody Conley was the Cardinals sole double winner, beating Jenis Fredriksen 6-3, 7-6. He joined forces with Brent McCombe to win No. 2 doubles 8-5 over Brad Hambrick and John Tarkoff.
The Cardinals drop to 16-6 and are idle until April 3 when they travel to Terre Haute, for a dual match with Indiana State.
