
Women's Basketball Defeats Miami (Ohio) 92-71

Louisville, Ky. - Louisville used an 11-2 run midway through the second half to dispatch Miami (Ohio) 92-71 in Freedom Hall on Friday night. Senior guard Marju Sober led all scorers with a season-high 29 points, connecting on 7 of 11 three-pointers. Junior forward Amanda Wolke tied a career-high with 19 points and led the Cardinals on the board with seven. Kim Lancaster and Heather Cusick led the Redhawks with 17 points apiece.
The Cardinals made another late 10-3 run to go up 89-66 with just over a minute to play. The Cardinal defense held the Redhawks to just 44 percent from the field in the second half and just 33.3 percent from the arc.
Louisville started the game with a 17-5 run in the first four minutes. Miami went on a 12-2 run to cut the lead to 32-29 with 5:34 remaining in the half. The Cardinals responded with a 9-0 run of their own to finish the half with a 47-40 lead. Louisville took advantage of 14 Redhawk turnovers, converting them into 21 points. Sophomore Sara Nord dished out nine of her game-high 11 assists in the first half.
The Cardinals will return to action tomorrow night against Coastal Carolina at 7:00 p.m. in Freedom Hall.
