
Women's Basketball Wins Third in a Row

Louisville, Ky. - The Louisville Cardinals defeated Coastal Carolina 66-56 Saturday night at Freedom Hall for their third straight win at home. Junior forward Amanda Wolke led the Cardinals with 13 points and senior Marju Sober chipped in 12. Sophomore point guard Sara Nord dished out 12 assists. Coastal Carolina's Nikki Reddick led all scorers with 22 points.
The Cardinals opened the second half with a 7-0 run in the first four minutes of play. The Lady Chanticleers made an 11-7 run in the final five minutes to cut the final margin to 10.
Louisville got on the board first with a Sober three-pointer and continued on to an 18-4 run. Coastal Carolina pulled within seven points with 7:26 and again at 4:18 remaining in the first half. The Cardinals held off a late run and went into the lockerroom with a 34-22 lead.
The Cardinals will open up conference play against Cincinnati on Jan. 4 at 7:00 p.m. in Freedom Hall.
