KNOXVILLE, Tenn. -- The University of Louisville men's swim team was doing Tennessee a favor when they filled in as the opponent. The No. 3-ranked Volunteers didn't return the favor, winning 147-88.
The Cardinals were called upon when UT's original opponent had a schedule conflict.
"We were happy to have the opportunity to swim with one of the top programs in the country," said U of L head coach Rick Hill. "Tough competition leads to better performances especially as we near the end of our schedule."
Patrick McGonigal had a second in the 1650 with Matt Bentley earning a second in the 500-free. Joseph Mittel was second in the 200-back.
Tennessee remains undefeated in dual meets at 9-0, Louisville drops to 5-6.
