LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- The University of Louisville was swept by the University of Evansville in swimming at Crawford Pool on Saturday. The men lost 125-105 with the women falling 153-99.
"Evansville is a very good team. They have a really good new coach who has infused their roster with some foreign swimmers who are scoring points for them," said Rick Hill, U of L head coach. "This is always a close, spirited meet."
Once again Louisville divers swept their event. For the women, Katie Collins won the first round with Tara Tokarczyk winning the second round with scores of 155.0 and 147.65 respectively. For the men, Sean Wilkinson and Richard Marschner dove unopposed. Wilkinson won both rounds. Wilkinson had 195.5 and 198.4 for the day.
Other than the firsts in diving, the Louisville men won only one other race when James Winchester won the 200-breast with a time of 2:13.73.
For the women, Catherine Dievendorf won the 500 free with seconds in the grueling 1650-free and in the 400-Free Relay.
