Swimmers Top Saint Louis, Dropped By TCU

The U of L swimming teams split a double dual meet Friday at Crawford Pool, with the men and women both defeating Saint Louis, and falling to Texas Christian.
The men fell 64-48 to the Horned Frogs. Nils Lofgren won a closely contested 200 butterfly with a time of 1:55.45, while Joe Mittel cruised to a win in the 200 backstroke at 1:55.26.
The Cards picked up wins in eight of the 11 contested events in topping the Billikens 68-42. Diver Sean Wilkiinson's 287.7 points was the top effort by any individual.
In the women's 71-33 loss to TCU, Stephanie Basler won easily in the 1000 free in a time of 10:48.74. The women picked up victories in 10 of the 11 contested events, with Catherine Dievendorf picking up wins in both the 200 and 500 free in a 73-30 win over SLU.
TCU's men topped SLU 62-36 and the women were victorious 69-34 over the Billikens.
