Seven University of Louisville singles players and two doubles teams remain undefeated in the University of Louisville Invitational.
Louisville's Cody Conley and Brent McCombe will play Joachim LIen and Alex Sivertsen in "A" doubles. In "B" doubles Belmont's Sondoval/Triacca will play Han/Wai in the finals on Sunday. In "C" doubles, the team of Grombacher/Ishida of Wright State will play teammates Turner/Camper in the finals.
In "A" singles, Pikeville's Ricardo Lopez defeated Alex Sivertsen of Louisville 6-3, 2-6, 7-6(5) to advance to Sunday's semifinals, where he will face Louisville's Cody Conley,who beat Chad Camper of Wright State 6-1, 6-0. U of L's Paulo Carvalho defeated Murray State's Thiago Gondim, 6-2, 6-3 and Joachim Lien beat Indiana's Joey Balsiger to set up a Louisville showdown in the other "A" semifinal match.
In "B" singles, Lincoln-Memorial's Linus Johansson defeated Christian Lopez of Pikeville 6-4, 7-5 to advance to the semifinals. He will play Alex Sundsten of Murray State, who beat Louisville's Marek Blaskovic 6-0, 2-6, 6-3. U of L's Matt Mayer beat Quincy Jones of Wright State 6-4, 6-4 and Ciaran Foley defeated Wright State's Mike Brush to prompt another all-Louisville match in Sunday's semifinals.
In "C" singles, U of L's Jake Kirts beat Pikeville's Todd Kitchen 6-7(5), 6-2, 6-3 and Belmont's Ryan Brown outlasted Wright State's Joey Turner 0-6, 6-4, 7-5 to advance to the semifinals where they will play each other. Pikeville's Leonardo Lopez defeated Southern Indiana's Weston Phillips 6-2, 6-2, and Lincoln-Memorial's Kristofer Olofsen won over Andy Becker of Eastern Illinois 2-6, 7-5, 6-3 to advance to Sunday's semifinal round.
Pikeville's Chad Sellers will play Eric Ishida of Wright State and Brent Nelwan of Southern Indiana will play IUPUI's Damon Bell in the semis of the "D" singles flight.
In the consolation draw, Louisville's Brent McCombe will play Indiana's Ricardo Jordan and Chad Derry of Wright State will play CJ Weber of Eastern Illinois in the "A" Flight.
The finals of the doubles competition will continue on Sunday at 8:30 a.m. at the Bass-Rudd Tennis Center with singles play beginning at 11:30 a.m.
