LOUISVILLE, Ky. - Steve Logan scored 27 points and Cincinnati sank a season-high 11 3-point shots in a 72-52 win over Louisville on Saturday.
Kenny Satterfield added 15 for the Bearcats (11-4, 2-1 Conference USA), who defeated the Cardinals for the eighth straight time.
Reserve point guard Rashad Brooks scored a career-high 16 points to lead Louisville (5-11, 1-2), which has lost four consecutive games at Freedom Hall for the first time.
The Bearcats led by five at halftime and pushed the lead to 10 early in the second half with the help of three Louisville turnovers.
Reece Gaines twice cut Cincinnati's lead to eight before his dunk with 12:43 left drew Louisville to within six at 47-41.
Immanuel McElroy restored Cincinnati's eight-point lead and started a 12-2 Cincinnati run with a short jumper in the lane with 11:36 left. Logan scored five points during the spurt, and Satterfield's breakaway layup with 7:36 remaining gave Cincinnati a 59-43 lead and sent many fans to the exits.
Cincinnati finished 11-of-18 shots from 3-point range, led by Logan, who went 7-of-9.
Louisville was 19-of-55 from the floor (35 percent), the third straight game Cincinnati has held its opponent's field goal percentage to less than 40 percent.
Gaines, the Cardinals' leading scorer in three of their last four games, picked up two fouls in the first 2:12 and sat out the rest of the opening half.
