Chris May is in his 21st year with the University of Louisville Athletic Department, where he serves as Assistant Athletic Director of Student Services & Operations. In this role, he provides student services oversight for the men’s and women’s basketball programs, manages departmental business operations, and oversees the daily functions of the Thorntons Academic Center of Excellence.
He has previously served as the academic counselor for men’s and women’s swimming & diving, track & field, cross country, and women’s tennis. Additionally, his experience with the Athletic Department includes internships with Academic Services, where he provided academic support for the football program, and with the Cardinal Athletic Fund, focusing on major gift development.
A Louisville native and alumnus, Chris holds both a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science ('03) and a Master of Science in Sport Administration ('05) from the University of Louisville. He is an active member of the National Association of Academic and Student-Athlete Development Professionals (N4A) and completed the N4A Professional Development Institute - New Practitioner Track in 2009.
Chris and his wife, Greta, have two sons, Lawson and Duncan.
