Sophomore: Morsi added valuable depth to the Cardinals’ lineup throughout his second year in The Ville. He earned three lifetime bests at the Louisville Invitational en route to finishing third in both the 100 and 200 backstroke. He also posted five top-8 finishes throughout the dual meet season, highlighted by a fourth-place finish in the 200 backstroke against Cincinnati. Morsi also raced to fifth in the 100 backstroke against Kentucky and placed eighth in 100 backstroke and 100 butterfly versus Notre Dame.
Freshman: With his versatility, Morsi added valuable depth for the Cardinals in his debut season. He placed second in the 200 backstroke (1:46.32) and fifth in the 100 backstroke (49.53) at the UofL First Chance Invitational and was the runner-up in both of those events at the NCAA Last Chance Meet. At the Purdue Invitational, he finished 14th in the 100 backstroke (49.83), 17th in the 200 individual medley (1:51.42), 23rd in the 100 butterfly (50.17), and 25th in the 200 butterfly (1:52.08). Morsi recorded five top-7 finishes during dual meet competition, highlighted by a runner-up showing in the 200 butterfly (1:55.16) against Xavier. For his performances in both the pool and in the classroom, Morsi was awarded ACC Honor Roll honors.
Prep: Joining the Cardinals from Bowling Green, Kentucky, Morsi was a four-year contributor for Bowling Green High School. At the Kentucky State Championships, he was the 100 fly runner-up and took fifth in the 100 back as a senior after placing 11th and 10th, respectively, in those events during his junior season. Morsi is also the Kentucky Region 2 record-holder in both the 100 fly and 100 back. A multi-event record holder at Southern Kentucky Swim Club for coach Dee Wilkins, Morsi competed in three events at 2019 Junior Nationals in Stanford, Calif. after winning the 200m fly at the Kentucky Long Course State Championships. He holds best times of 48.93 in the 100 fly and 50.27 in the 100 back.
