Freshman: Julia Dennis’ freshman debut made the future of Cardinal sprinting look bright. At the NCAAs, she made the consol finals in the 50 free with a 21.87 for honorable mention All-American honors. She earned All-American honors with a third place in the 200 free relay, with a 21.39 third leg split in 1:25.73, the second fastest time in school history. Another All-American honor came when she swam the third leg of the 400 free relay in 47.49, helping the Cards to a third-place time of 3:09.57 for the second fastest time in school history. At ACCs, she scored 45 points, winning silver in the 200 Free Relay and the 400 Free Relay. The Cards boarded a time of 1:25.29 to set a school record as Dennis put up a third leg split of 21.43. The same foursome set a school mark in the 400 Free Relay, eclipsing the old mark by more than 2 seconds with a 3:08.92 with Dennis splitting a third leg of 47.11. She won the B-final in both the 50 free with a 21.83 and the 100 free with a 47.93. In the dual season, she notched several notable wins including wins over Cincinnati in the 100 and 200 freestyle, she helped the 200 free relay team win versus Indiana and won the 400 Free Relay at Kentucky. She also won the 50 free at Missouri as well as the 400 Free Relay at that same meet.

Prep: One of the top female swimmers in Mississippi, Dennis brings the speed to the Cardinals this year. Swimming for Shockwave Aquatics, Dennis finished the club swim season by placing 2^nd in the 50 freestyle at the 2022 USA Swimming Futures Championship in Cary. Dennis won the 50 freestyle at the 2019 Mississippi Swimming Long Course Championships and was runner-up for the 100 freestyle. From Oxford High School, Dennis was a three-time state champion winning the 50 freestyle twice and the 500 freestyle once. The Oxford, Mississippi native has best times of 22.59 in the 50 freestyle, 49.49 in the 100 freestyle, 1:48.62 in the 200 freestyle, and 5:03.08 in the 500 freestyle.
