2025-26: At NCAAs, Guy earned Second Team All-American honors in the 200 free and the 400 free relay. He was on the 800 free relay (6:15.03) with his leadoff split of 1:32.16. He was 11th in the 200 fere (1:31.48) and 20th in the 100 free (41.67). He was on the 15th place 400 free relay team that went 2:48.04, swimming the second leg split in 41.39). At ACCs, Guy scored 37 points. He was part of the 800 free relay that finished 7th. He was sixth in the 200 free (1:31.92) and was on the seventh place 400 medley relay (3:03.04) and finished 14th in the 100 free and added a swim on the 400 free relay squad that placed eighth (2:48.20). During the Dual Meet Season: Guy Brooks competed in the 200 freestyle, placing first, with a time of 1:37.60 in the meet against Xavier. Brooks participated in the 400 free relay with a split of 21.80, placing second and also placed second in the 200 medley relay with a split of 19.50. At the SMU Classic in Dallas, Guy swam in the 400 medley relay, where his team finished first and he split 46.69. He won the 200 freestyle with a time of 1:33.67 and swam in the 800 freestyle relay, where his team finished fourth with a split of 1:34.82. Guy moved on to the 200 backstroke consolation heat, where he finished second with a time of 1:43.91. He competed in the 100 freestyle championship, where he finished second with a time of 42.99. Finally, he swam in the 200 freestyle relay, finishing third with his team and earning an individual split of 19.41. Against Notre Dame, Brooks won the 200 freestyle with a time of 1:32.22 and was on the 400 freestyle relay, where he placed first with a 41.81 split. In the meet against Missouri, Guy finished first in the 200 freestyle with a time of 1:34.85. Next, he swam in the 100 freestyle and finished second with a time of 43.25. Against Cincinnati, Brooks won the 50 freestyle with a time of 19.70. Then, Guy placed second in the 100 butterfly in 47.37 seconds. In his final event, the 200 freestyle relay, he won with a split of 19.24. At the Texas Showdown, he won the 200 free with a time of 1:32.61 and was on the third-place 400 free relay squad that touched in 2:51.64 with his second leg split of 42.06.
2024-25: At the NCAA Championships in Federal Way, Washington, Brooks swam on all five relays and the 100 and 200 free in the individual events. He earned HM All-American Honors in all five relays: the 200 Medley Relay which finished 10th (1:22.82), the 800 Free Relay that finished 15th (6:12.18), the 200 Free Relay (14th in 1:15.74), the 400 Medley Relay (12th (3:01.7) and the 400 Free Relay (15th in 2:48.20). At the ACC Championships, he won bronze in the 10 free with a time of 1:32.04. He was 16th in the 50 free (19.75) and 15th in the 100 free (42.60). During the dual meet season, he placed second as part of the 400 free relay (2:51.08), and was fourth in the 200 free (1:34.39) and sixth in the 100 free (43.92). Against rival Kentucky, he won the 200 free (1:34.13) and the 100 free (42.99) and helped the Cards win the 200 Medley Relay (1:24.27) and the 400 Free Relay (2:52.51). He swept the sprint events at Missouri with a 19.55 in the 50 free and a 42.54 in the 100 free and was in the winning 200 Medley Relay (1:24.49). Brooks won the 100 free (42.25) at the Ohio State Invitational where he also placed second in the 200 free (1:31.96) as well as being on the winning 200 medley relay(1:22.59). Against the Volunteers of Tennessee, he won the 200 free (1:33.45) and the 100 free (42.89) and was on the winning 200 Medley Relay team that touched in 1:23.96. At the South African National Championship, he was second in both the 100M free (49.39) and the 50M free (22.94), touching fourth in the 200M free (1:51.22).2023-24: Guy qualified for the NCAA Championships in Indianapolis where earned All-American honors as part of the 800 free relay (6:08.32). In individual events, he was 17th in the 200 free (1:32.24) and 51st in the 100 free (42.69). He was part of the 14th place 200 free relay (1:16.15), the 11th place 400 medley relay team (3:30.25) and the 15th place 400 free relay team (2:48.55). At the ACC Championships in Greensboro, he scored 38 points. He won gold as part of the 800 free relay team (6:09.87) and finished seventh in bot the 200 free relay (1:16.95) and the 400 free relay (2:50.38). He was 13th in the 100 free finals (42.50) and sixth in the A-final of the 200 free. During the dual meet season, he won the 100 (43.67) and 200 free (1:34.56) and was on the winning 400 free relay team (2:53.12) against Missouri. In the Kentucky meet, he was third in both the 100 free (44.01) and the 200 free (1:35.07) and was on the third place 200 medley relay team. In the double dual meet with Indiana and Wisconsin, he was second in the 200 free (1:33.96) and fifth in the 100 free (44.06) and helped the Cards touch fourth in the 400 free relay. In the final dual meet of the season, he won the 50 free and the 100 free and the 200 free relay against Cincinnati.
2022-23: Guy Brooks had a stellar freshman campaign in his first year as a Cardinal. He swam at the NCAA Championships, placing 19th in the 200 free (1:32.96) and 40th in the 100 free (42.71). He was on the 800 Free Relay team that finished ninth with a time of 6:12.25 with his split clocking in at 1:33.34. As a part of the 400 Free Relay team, he turned in a split of 42.17 as the Cards went 2:48.93He qualified for the ACC Championships where he won the B-Final of the 200 Free (1:33.19) and was 13th in the 100 free (42.78). He won silver as a member of the 800 freestyle relay splitting 1:32.66 on the third leg as the Cards went 6:11.26, the third fastest time in school history. He won bronze as a member of the 400 Free Relay team that turned in a 2:48.94 with his split at 42.35. In the dual meet season, he won the 200 free against Xavier and was fourth against Tennessee. He touched fourth in the 200 free at Notre Dame. At the Purdue Invitational, he was 10th in the 100 free finals. At Missouri, he was fourth in the 200 free and fifth in the 100 freestyle. At the TYR Pro Series in Knoxville, he was 17th in the 50M free finals. Against the rival Kentucky Wildcats, he was second in the 200 free and fifth in the 100 free. Against Indiana, he placed fifth in the 200 free and eighth in the 100 free.
Prep: From Durban, RSA, Brooks joins the Cardinals from Seagulls Swimming Club where he ranks 5th in South Africa. At the 14th Africa Junior Swimming Championships in 2021, Brooks won four events and finished second in the 200 backstroke and third in the 50 butterfly. He placed first in the 200 freestyle, the 50 freestyle, the 100 freestyle, and the 100 butterfly. Also swimming for the South African Swimming Federation, Brooks has best times of 22.65 in the 50 freestyle, 49.84 in the 100 freestyle, 1:51.99 in the 100 freestyle, 24.99 in the 50 butterfly, and 54.32 in the 100 butterfly.
