Louisville International Family Enrichment
Mission
The Louisville International Family Enrichment (LIFE) program is a Recognized Student Organization on the University of Louisville's campus that assists international student-athletes in acclimating to American culture and prepares them for success on campus. LIFE provides an opportunity for all student-athletes to meet, discuss common interests, and celebrate the array of cultures represented on campus. The program is organized by students to encourage understanding and enhance opportunities.
Goals
- Create a support network for international student-athletes
- Create an environment that promotes and honors cultural diversity
- Build a working relationship with the university International Center and Cultural Center
- Develop and facilitate cultural education and training for student-athletes

2019-20 Activities & Events
- General Body Meetings
Seven monthly meetings were held throughout the year. Meeting activities included welcoming of new members, ice breakers, discussion of current events, ways to get involved, and agenda for the year. Connie Martinez from the International Center was also a guest, speaking about OPT and CPT visas in addition to the importance of keeping I-20s up-to-date. Executive board elections for the upcoming year were held in April. - Outreach at J.B. Atkinson Elementary School
Community service event was held with children at the school. - Thanksgiving Themed Dinner for Student-Athletes
Held in collaboration with S.C.O.R.E. in the Karp Auditorium. After dinner, student-athletes put together care packages for the less fortunate. - Meet & Greet Luncheon
L.I.F.E co-sponsored the first meet and greet luncheon for the semester hosted by the International Center in the Red Barn. Aiko Jones spoke about being a student-athlete at UofL and encouraged other international students to come out and support the international athletes at their respective games.
