New Hire Frequently Asked Questions
I have accepted the position. What is the next step in the hiring process?
A new hire packet will be sent to you via email, along with instructions for completing the I-9 and criminal background check electronically. We ask that you complete everything as soon as possible to expedite the process. A copy of the completed and signed new hire packet must be scanned to the Athletics HR department (Lauren Sharrock/Jeremy Toles).
I have turned in my forms. What do I do next?
Once the criminal background check has successfully ran and returned completed, a date will be set for you to attend New Employee Orientation (NEO). NEO is conducted every Monday by the University HR department from 8:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. and attendance is mandatory of all new hires.
What is covered in New Employee Orientation?
1) University policies and procedures, 2) Your benefits options (Health, Vision, Dental, Retirement, etc.), 3) Parking permits, costs and policies, 4) University ID will be made, 5) Submitting new hire paperwork to Payroll, 6) Satisfying I-9 identification requirements
What is the next step after orientation?
All new ULAA employees are required to meet with the Athletics HR department for a brief ULAA orientation to discuss policies and procedures unique to ULAA and fill out forms (contract, motor vehicle check, etc.). You will need to contact Lauren Sharrock (502-852-7250) to schedule an appointment.
Are my moving expenses reimbursable?
Reimbursements for relocating from out-of-state MAY be reimbursable. Reimbursements must have PRIOR approval from your hiring supervisor AND the Athletic Business Office. If approved and you intend to us a moving company, you must use the University contracted moving company (Allied/Berger). Contact Lauren Sharrock for details.
