Louisville Cheer
Founded in 1939, Louisville Cheer has a proud tradition of supporting Cardinal Athletics. This iconic program is recognized nationally and internationally as the gold standard. To be a Louisville cheerleader is to reach the top of the sport.
Large Coed Cheer Team
Louisville Large Coed has been a competitive squad for over 35 years and has a proud tradition of talent and success. The team has won 18 National Cheerleading Association Championships (1985, '86, '89, '92, '94, '96, '98, '99, '03, '04, '05, '06, '07, '08, '09, ’11, ’16, ‘18). The team exemplifies the standard to which all Large Coed Squads aspire.Â

All Girl Cheer Team
In 1998, we had an abundance of cheer talent. Assistant Coed Coach, Misty Hodges saw an opportunity and founded the All Girl Cheer team. Since its inception, the All Girl team has won 18 National Cheer Association championships - 1998, 1999, 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004, 2005, 2009, 2011, 2012, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019, 2021, 2022, 2023, 2024, 2025 and 2026 (No 2020 season due to COVID-19)  That is 22 of the last 26 titles and twelve titles in a row since 2014. This team has a legacy of excellence. The All Girl Team sets the standard of skill, precision and integrity and is a national role model. The team continues to be under the guidance of Misty Hodges.

Small Coed Cheer Team
The Small Coed Cheer team was created in 2004 due to the consistent level of coed cheer talent. Since its inception, the Small Coed team has won 12 National Cheer Association championships - 2005, 2006, 2008, 2009, 2011, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2021 and 2022. (No 2020 season due to COVID-19.) This team has an established legacy of excellence and sets the bench mark for others to follow. Misty Hodges has been the coach since its inception.
Tryouts

Auditions
You are evaluated based on how much POTENTIAL you have to become a collegiate cheerleader and to contribute to the team.
Basic Requirements:
- Incoming freshman ARE eligible to try out.
- Transfer students with a minimum GPA of 2.0 are eligible to try out.
- Current U of L students must be enrolled full-time (12 hours) to be eligible to try out.
- Try out packet must be submitted at the first round of auditions with a $40 fee.
- There is NOT a point system. The coach makes the final team selections after advisement from current and/or former captains.
