University of Louisville Cardinal Pep Band

The UofL Pep Band performs for UofL Men’s and Women’s Basketball, UofL Women’s Volleyball, and a variety of other athletic events dedicated to the support of the UofL Athletic Programs. Each year, in support of UofL Basketball, members of the UofL Pep Band travel to postseason volleyball and basketball tournaments including the ACC and NCAA tournaments, in places such as Washington D.C., New York City, and Greensboro, N.C., expenses paid. Scholarships are available for every student.

Pep Band activities are year-round, and participants must also be a member of the Cardinal Marching Band. Scholarships are offered fall and spring semesters. Additionally, Pep Band is offered as a spring semester course (MUS 109-07, 1 credit) within the School of Music. There is no audition required.

The band is under the direction of Dr. Jason Cumberledge.
