Bio
Junior: Nolan was named an honorable mention All-American and scored 75 points for the Cardinals at the ACC Championships with three A-finals. He was fourth in the 200-IM with a 1:44.76. He was third in the 400-IM with a 3:43.61 and seventh in the 200-back. At the NCAA Championships, he was 14th in the 400-IM (3:44.36).At the USA Short Course Nationals, he was third in the 200-IM (1:44.95) and fourth in the 400-IM (3:46.69). He was seventh in the 200-back. His dual meet season highlights includes a win in the 200-IM (1:50.65) versus Xavier, a win in the 400-IM at the Louisville Cardinal Invitational, and a first in the 200-IM against archrival Kentucky. He won both the 200-IM (1:48.26) and 400-IM (3:51.79) versus North Carolina. He swept the IM events against Florida State as well, with a 1:48.51 in the 200-IM and a 3:52.85 in the 400-IM. At the Arena Pro Series in Charlotte, he was 27th in the 100-meter back, going 58.57.
Sophomore: Nolan earned All-AAC recognition as he took first place in the 200-IM with a time of 1:45.30 at the AAC Championships. He added a second place finish in the 400-IM and a third place finish in the 200-back. Tesone finished first in the 400-IM against North Carolina with a time of 3:56.00 and also took first in the 200 back against Notre Dame and the 200-IM against Kentucky.
Freshman: As a freshman, Nolan added depth to the Cardinals in any event he swam. He was named champion in the 400-IM in a time of 3:48.90 just off his prelim time of 3:48.34 earning All- BIG EAST performer recognition. Tesone also made the A-final in the rest of his events at BIG EAST placing 4th in the 200-backstroke being the third fastest Cardinal in 1:46.08 and swimming a prelim time of 1:45.21. He also swam for a 5th place finish in the 200-IM in 1:47.24. At the Purdue Invite Tesone swam was 2nd place finish in the 200- and 400-IMs in 1:48.71 and 3:51.93 and was the fastest Cardinal in the 200-backstroke swimming for 3rd place in 1:46.49. He also swam on the 800-freestyle relay swimming the third leg to help the Cardinals place 4th. In the spring, Tesone was one of eight Cardinals chosen to compete at the SMU Classic where he swam the 200-IM for 4th and the 100-backstroke for 11th place. At the Charlotte UltraSwim in May, Tesone made finals in the 200-meter backstroke in 2:06.06 for a 17th place finish and the 400-meter IM for 21st in 4:37.04, the fastest Cardinal in the event. Tesone is also on the Athletic Director's Honor Roll.
Prep: Nolan Tesone comes to Louisville from Pomona High School in Westminster, Colo. where he swam for Amy Griffiths. He is a product of the North Jeffco Swim Team where he swam for Brett Stoyell. Tesone is a Senior National Qualifier in four events (400-IM, 200-IM, 100-backstroke, 200-backstroke), and is a US Olympic Trials Qualifier in the 400-IM. He is a four-time All-American in the 200-IM and 100-backstroke. He was the Colorado State Champion in the 200-IM.
