Junior: Hannah provided scoring power for the Cardinals in all three of her events at the ACC Championship, finishing 21st in the 100 fly (53.79), 22nd in the 100 back (54.49), and 24th in the 200 fly (2:01.60). At the Atlanta Arena Pro Swim Series, she placed 13th in the 100-meter fly (1:00.94), 22nd in the 200-meter back (2:23.96), and she also swam the 100-meter free (59.65), 200-meter fly (2:19.48), and 100-meter back (1:06.36). Hannah qualified for the World Championship Trials in both the 50 and 100-meter fly, placing 15th in the 50-meter distance in a time of 27.09. Highlights from Hannah’s dual season include a victory in the 100 fly (53.77) and third place finish in the 100 back (54.47) at the UofL Invitational. She also added wins in both the 100 back and 100 fly in the Cardinals’ win over Xavier.
Sophomore: At NCAAs, Hannah anchored the 200-free relay that finished 12th with a time of 1:29.24 including her split of 22.75. At ACCs, she scored 11.5 points, she made the B-final in the 200-back with a 1:57.56. In the dual meet season, she won the 100-fly versus Cincinnati and had a 2:05.09 in the 200-back against Florida State. She helped win the medley relay versus Xavier. She was a part of the winning 400-free relay team at the SMU Classic, splitting 21.99 and helped win the same event against Indiana. At the Arena Pro Series in Indy, she was a finalist in the 100-meter fly (1:01.67) and the 200-meter back (2:23.07). In Charlotte, she finalled in the 100-meter fly (1:01.59) and the 50-meter fly (27.70). At the US Open Championships,. she was a finalist in the 4x100-meter free relay team that finished third (3:46.81) including her split of 30.48. She finished 18th in the 100-meter fly with a 1:01.84. She qualified for the US Olympic Team Trials, where she posted a 59.32 in the 100-meter free. She was named to the All-ACC Academic team.
Freshman: Hannah Magnuson had a strong first year as a Cardinal. She won C final with a 17th overall place in 200 back at the ACC Championships with a time of 1:56.38 – her final time would have been 8th in A final. At USA Short Course Nationals, she led off the winning 200-medley relay with a 25.51 split and was second in the 400-medley relay with a leadoff split of 54.19. She also made the C-final in the 200-back where she finished fifth with a time of 1:57.48. She won a gold medal at the USA Nationals, swimming the third leg of championship 4x100 Free Relay with split of 57.36. She was also a part of the USA Nationals fourth place finish in the 4x100 M Medley relay, swimming the third leg in 1:00.09. Highlights of UofL dual season include a first in the 200-medley relay versus Xavier. She was selected for the SMU Classic and won the 100-fly against Cincinnati. She was third in the 100-back at the Bulldog Invitational.
Prep: Hannah joined the Cardinals after attending Christian Academy of Louisville. Under Coach Amy Albiero at Christian Academy of Louisville, she was a KHSAA all-state selection for three straight years. She also competed for Triton swimming of Louisville under Scott Paulson and was a two-time captain as well as a six-time Swimmer of the Year. Hannah was also a recipient of a highly prestigious Governor’s Scholars award and has been a member of the KY Athletic Association Academic All-State First Team for three years.
