Freshman: Alexander provided more backstroke depth to the Cardinals’ squad, winning the 100 backstroke (54.39) and finished second in the 200 backstroke (1:57.52) at the UofL First Chance Meet while earning a best time in the latter. She had a strong showing at the Purdue Invitational, finishing fourth in the 100 backstroke (54.26) and winning the B-final of the 200 backstroke (1:58.47). Alexander began her college career with a pair of fourth-place finishes in the dual meet against Xavier, and also raced to fourth in the 100 backstroke against Tennessee, Notre Dame, and Indiana.
Prep: Coming overseas from Auckland, New Zealand, Alexander swam with United Swim Club under coach Igor Polianski and has represented the New Zealand Swimming Federation internationally. The National 17-Year-Old Age Group record holder in the 50 back, Alexander won that event as well as the 100 back at the 2018 New Zealand Short Course Championships. She finished eighth in both the 50m and 100m back at the 2019 New Zealand Open Championships and placed 13th in the latter at the Junior Pan Pac Championships in 2018. She attended St. Mary’s College and owns best times of 27.00 in the 50m free, 59.68 in the 100m free, 29.48 in the 50m back, and 1:03.09 in the 100m back.
