Bio
Senior: Deliyiannis continued to add more depth to the Cardinals’ sprint group, finishing 28th in the 50 freestyle (19.51) at the NCAA Championships. He also split 18.98 on UofL’s 200 freestyle relay at NCAAs that finished 11th overall. At the ACC Championships, he placed eighth in the 50 freestyle (19.62), 19th in the 100 freestyle (43.54), and raced the 100 butterfly (48.74). Deliyiannis was the runner-up in the 50 freestyle against Kentucky and took fifth in that event versus Notre Dame. For his efforts in the classroom, he was named to the All-ACC Academic Team.
Junior: Deliyiannis continued to solidify himself as one of the Cardinals’ top sprinters as a junior and qualified for the NCAA Championships in the 50 freestyle before the meet was cancelled. At the ACC Championships, he finished seventh in the 50 freestyle (19.65), 20th in the 100 freestyle (43.72), and split a 19.27 on the 200 freestyle relay that earned silver. He was the 50 freestyle (19.75) runner-up at the Purdue Invitational before going on to take 12th in the 50-meter freestyle at the Toyota U.S. Open. Throughout the dual meet season, Deliyiannis won the 50 freestyle four times against Xavier, Tennessee, Notre Dame, and Northwestern. He was also named to the CSCAA All-American team in the 50 freestyle and 200 freestyle relay.
Sophomore: Deliyiannis joined the Cardinals in his sophomore season and was a valuable member of the Louisville sprint squad. At the NCAA Championships, he split an 18.83 to help the Cards finish 10th overall and break the school record in the 200 free relay with a time of 1:16.37. At the ACC Championships, he competed individually in the 50 and 100 free and helped the Cards to a bronze medal finish in the 200 free relay. He also added strong performances in the sprint events at the IU Invitational, highlighted by an 11th place finish in the 50 free with a time of 19.94. During the dual meet season, he added a number of top-three finishes in the 50 free, including two second place finishes in the wins over Northwestern and Xavier. For his efforts in the classroom, Deliyiannis earned a spot on the All-ACC Academic Team. At the Phillips 66 National Championships in Stanford, Calif., Deliyiannis was a member of the Cards’ eighth-place 4x100m free relay and finished 16th in the 50m free (22.74).
At Arizona State: Deliyiannis was a member of the Pac-12 Championship team for the Sun Devils, where he competed in the 50 free (20.30), 100 fly (49.41) and 100 free (45.65). During the dual meet season, he turned in a fourth-place finish in the 50 free against Southern California with a time of 21.09.
Prep: Deliyiannis is a Roswell, Ga. native, where he attended Roswell High School and was a 2018 GHSA 6-7 A state champion and All-American in the 50 free. He also swam for Ace Aquatic Club under the direction of Ryan Bried and was a finalist at the 2017 NCSA Spring Junior National Championship in the 50 free. Deliyiannis holds best times of 20.30 in the 50 free, 45.56 in the 100 free and 49.86 in the 100 fly.
