2025 The Louies Student-Athlete Awards

Every year the University of Louisville recognizes the widespread success of its student-athletes and teams with The Louies Student-Athlete Awards. Today we celebrate the best moments, on the field of play, in the classroom and out in the community, during the 2024-25 year.

And the winner's are …

UPS Leadership Award - Female

Gabi Albiero, Swimming & Diving, has been named the female recipient of the UPS Leadership Award.

UPS Leadership Award - Male

Reyne Smith, Men's Basketball, has been named one of the male recipients of the UPS Leadership Award.

Josh Jones, Men's Soccer, has been named one of the male recipients of the UPS Leadership Award.

Teammate of the Year

Ethan Meyer, Cross Country/Track & Field, is the winner of the Teammate of the Year Award.

Support Staff Member of the Year

Baylee Burke, Assistant Athletic Trainer, is this year's Support Staff Member of the Year.

Newcomer of the Year - Female

Nayelis Cabello, Volleyball, is one of the female recipients of Newcomer of the Year following a national championship match appearance and earning ACC Freshman of the Year honors.

Taj Roberts, Women's Basketball, is one of the female recipients for Newcomer of the Year. Roberts was the team's second leading scorer and finished runner-up in ACC Freshman of the Year voting.

Newcomer of the Year - Male

Isaac Brown, Football, is one of the recipients of Male Newcomer of the Year. Brown broke the freshman rushing record, previously held by Lamar Jackson, was named ACC Rookie of the Year and earned Freshman All-American honors.

Tague Davis, Baseball, is one of the recipients of Newcomer of the Year, following baseball's sixth College World Series appearance and earning Freshman All-American honors.

KJ Byrd, Track & Field, is one of the recipients of Newcomer of the Year. Byrd had a historic freshman season, winning the ACC Decathlon title during Indoor season and earning First Team All-American honors at Indoor and Outdoor NCAA Championships.

Moment of the Year - Female

Louisville Volleyball had the Female Moment of the Year. The Cardinals defeated conference-foe Pitt inside the KFC Yum! Center to advance to the National Championship.

Moment of the Year - Male

Chucky Hepburn, Men's Basketball, earned Co-Moment of the Year. Hepburn drilled a buzzer-beater against Stanford to advance to the ACC Tournament Semifinal Game.

Louisville Baseball earned Co-Moment of the Year. The Cards won the best-of-three series against the Miami Hurricanes to secure a spot in Omaha.

Athletic Director Award

Anna DeBeer, Volleyball, is taking home the Athletic Director Award.

Elena Scott, Volleyball, is taking home the Athletic Director Award.

Jayden Ulrich, Track & Field, is taking home the Athletic Director Award.

adidas High Performance Award - Female

Synclair Savage, Track & Field, is the recipient of the Female adidas High Performance Award. At the 2025 Outdoor Track & Field Championships, Savage secured the Long Jump National Title with a mark of 6.72m (22-0.75).

adidas High Performance Award - Male

Eddie King Jr., Baseball, has earned the Male adidas High Performance Award. King Jr. racked up postseason honors, being named All-ACC Second Team, ACC All-Tournament Team, ABCA All-Midwest Region First Team & NCAA Nashville Regional MVP.
