What does Hispanic Heritage Month mean to you?
For me Hispanic Heritage Month is a month that we can learn and celebrate our history and culture no matter where we at and also a space to show others where we come from and that we are more than just great gastronomy.



What does it mean to you to be Hispanic/Latinx?
Being Hispanic is an honor and something that I'm proud of. My culture and where I come from is what has shaped the person that I'm today.



What is unique about your culture?
Puerto Rico is recognized for having the longest Christmas in the world. Starting on the day after thanksgiving and ending with the "octavitas" which is 8 days after The Three Kings Day. During this period of time our culture and traditions are the center of attraction for us and the rest of the World.








Why are you proud to be Puerto Rican?
Puerto Rico is special for me because of its beauty, the amiability and happiness of their people, because is the island that I was born, is were I gave my first steps in sports, is were I developed the person that I’m today. I’m very thankful and honored of being able to say that I’m from “La Isla del encanto” and for this and many other reasons is why I’m proud of being Puerto Rican.



In what ways do you celebrate your heritage?
Keeping alive old traditions that has been part of our culture from generation to generation.



How has Los Cardenales specifically impacted you & your life at UofL?
Los Cardenals gave me a family. Is always nice to be with a group of people that makes you feel closer to home.
