
Louisville Finishes 34th in 2021-22 LEARFIELD Directors' Cup Standings

Louisville recorded a top-40 finish for the 12th consecutive year.
LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The University of Louisville athletics department finished 34th nationally in the LEARFIELD Directors' Cup standings announced by the National Association of Collegiate Directors of America (NACDA).
The 2021-22 athletic year marks the 12th straight in which Louisville has finished inside the top 40 of the national standings.
Louisville accumulated 211.5 points during the spring to finish with a yearlong total of 663.5. The Cardinals were one of eight ACC programs to finish in the top 40.
UofL accrued points during the spring for baseball, men's golf, women's golf, men's tennis, men's track & field and women's track & field.
Louisville baseball reached the NCAA Tournament for the 13th time in the last 15 full seasons and made their ninth super regional appearance. Meanwhile, the men's golf program reached the NCAA Regional for the fourth consecutive season, while the women's program made their eighth straight appearance.
Women's track & field recorded the program's best outdoor finish, taking home 25th place overall. Gabriela Leon helped lead the way, becoming the first women's outdoor national champion in program history, taking home the top spot in the pole vault.
Men's tennis put together a strong 2022 season, earning a spot in the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 2017.
The LEARFIELD Directors' Cup was developed as a joint effort between the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA) and USA Today. Points are awarded based on each institution's finish in NCAA Championships.
