Cards Close Regular Season at the Aggie Invitational

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The No. 40-ranked University of Louisville men's golf team returns to competition this weekend at the Aggie Invitational which is being played at the Traditions Club in Bryan-College Station.
The Cardinals will be represented by Jiri Zuska, Chris Francoeur, Max Kennedy, Nick Tenuta and Sebastian Moss at the two-day, 54-hole tournament. The event begins with 36 holes of continuous play on Saturday followed by the championship round on Sunday which starts at 7:30 a.m. with tee times. UofL will also Walker Franklin participating as an individual.
The tournament also features No. 10 Arkansas, No. 23 Texas A&M, Baylor, Houston, Kent State, Little Rock, New Mexico, North Texas, Northern Illinois and UTSA. The Jack Nicklaus designed course is set up at a par-72, 7,227-yard layout this weekend.
Louisville will be playing in the Aggie Invitational for the second-straight season, finishing sixth last year with Max Kennedy leading the way in 21st place.
In their last team event, the Cardinals shot a final round 12-under-par to finish in sixth place at the John Hayt Invitational.
Entering the day in 11th place, the Cards shot the top round of the day, firing a 276 to move up five spots in the standings. Louisville opened with a 295 and 308 in the first two rounds but responded with one of the top rounds of the spring.
Chris Francoeur posted the top score with a final round of 67 to move up to 41stplace, The graduate transfer finished the tournament with a 7-over-par 223.Kennedy tied for 23rdplace after he vaulted himself up the leaderboard by shooting 67 on the final day. He finished the tournament with a 4-over-par 220.
