Cards Ready to Begin Postseason Play the ACC Championships

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The University of Louisville men's golf team is set to begin postseason play on Friday morning at the ACC Championship in Panama City, Fla.
The Cardinals are the No. 8 seed at the championships and will tee off at 7:30 a.m. with Duke and NC State.
Headlining the group of travelers is senior Jiri Zuska, who owns the top stroke average on the 70.59. Chris Francouer is second on the team with a 71.52 stroke average and been steady in the last few tournaments. Max Kennedy, Nick Tenuta, Walker Franklin and Sebastian Moss all made the trip for the Cardinals.
Playing as an individual last week, Franklin posted the highest finish by a University of Louisville men's golfer at the Aggie Invitational on the Traditions Course Sunday.
Collectively, the Cardinals finished tied for sixth with North Texas after shooting 296-308-310=914 to close out the regular season.
Franklin tied for 13th after shooting at 10-over-par 78-73-75=226 to post his second-best finish in a UofL uniform.
Francoeur closed with his best finish in the starting lineup with his performance that tied him for 15thoverall. He shot a 75-74-78=227 to end the tournament at 11-over-par.
The No. 40th-ranked Cardinals will face a difficult challenge in the ACC there are six schools ranked inside of the top 25 at Sharkstooth Golf Course. North Carolina is the No. 1 seed followed by Georgia Tech and Notre Dame at No. 2 and No. 3, respectively.
Match play round will also be televised on ACC Network Extra for the Semifinals on Sunday and the Championship Match on Monday.
