Update on UofL Athletics COVID-19 Testing

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (Aug. 17, 2020) -- The University of Louisville Athletics' COVID-19 testing program has administered 1,373 tests to student-athletes, coaches and staff since student-athletes began returning to campus for voluntary activities on June 2. Since that time, there have been a total of 85 positive tests from the group. UofL will provide updates on its testing figures on a weekly basis moving forward.

Weekly updates are provided below.

Testing Update Aug. 28, 2020
LOUISVILLE, Ky. (Aug. 29, 2020) – Over the past week, the University of Louisville Athletics' COVID-19 testing program has administered 424 tests to student-athletes, coaches and staff with five positive tests from that group. Since student-athletes began returning to campus for voluntary activities on June 2, a total of 1,797 tests have been administered with 90 positive test results.

Testing Update Sept. 4, 2020
LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Over the past week, the University of Louisville Athletics' COVID-19 testing program has administered 340 tests to student-athletes, coaches and staff with two positive tests from that group. Since student-athletes began returning to campus for voluntary activities on June 2, a total of 2,137 tests have been administered with 92 positive test results.

Testing Update Sept. 11, 2020
LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Over the past week, the University of Louisville Athletics' COVID-19 testing program has administered 697 tests to student-athletes, coaches and staff with three positive tests from that group. Since student-athletes began returning to campus for voluntary activities on June 2, a total of 2,494 tests have been administered with 93 positive test results.

Testing Update Sept. 18, 2020
LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Over the past week, the University of Louisville Athletics' COVID-19 testing program has administered 1,050 tests to student-athletes, coaches and staff with five positive tests from that group. Over the last four weeks, a total of 2,511 tests have been administered with 15 positive test results. Since student-athletes began returning to campus for voluntary activities on June 2, a total of 3,544 tests have been administered with 98 positive test results.

Testing Update Sept. 25
LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Over the past week, the University of Louisville Athletics' COVID-19 testing program has administered 1,003 tests to student-athletes, coaches and staff with seven positive tests from that group. Over the last five weeks, a total of 3,514 tests have been administered with 22 positive test results. Since student-athletes began returning to campus for voluntary activities on June 2, a total of 4,547 tests have been administered with 105 positive test results.

Testing Update Oct. 2
LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Over the past week, the University of Louisville Athletics' COVID-19 testing program has administered 1,147 tests to student-athletes, coaches and staff with 10 positive tests from that group. Over the last six weeks, a total of 4,661 tests have been administered with 32 positive test results. Since student-athletes began returning to campus for voluntary activities on June 2, a total of 5,694 tests have been administered with 115 positive test results.

Testing Update Oct. 9
LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Over the past week, the University of Louisville Athletics' COVID-19 testing program has administered 1,195 tests to student-athletes, coaches and staff with four positive tests from that group. Over the last seven weeks, a total of 5,856 tests have been administered with 36 positive test results. Since student-athletes began returning to campus for voluntary activities on June 2, a total of 6,889 tests have been administered with 119 positive test results.

Testing Update Oct. 16
LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Over the past week, the University of Louisville Athletics' COVID-19 testing program has administered 1,075 tests to student-athletes, coaches and staff with four positive tests from that group. Over the last eight weeks, a total of 6,931 tests have been administered with 40 positive test results. Since student-athletes began returning to campus for voluntary activities on June 2, a total of 7,964 tests have been administered with 123 positive test results.

Testing Update Oct. 23
LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Over the past week, the University of Louisville Athletics' COVID-19 testing program has administered 1,029 tests to student-athletes, coaches and staff with two positive tests from that group. Over the last nine weeks, a total of 7,960 tests have been administered with 42 positive test results. Since student-athletes began returning to campus for voluntary activities on June 2, a total of 8,993 tests have been administered with 125 positive test results.

Testing Update Oct. 30
LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Over the past week, the University of Louisville Athletics' COVID-19 testing program has administered 1,130 tests to student-athletes, coaches and staff with four positive tests from that group. Over the last 10 weeks, a total of 9,090 tests have been administered with 46 positive test results. Since student-athletes began returning to campus for voluntary activities on June 2, a total of 10,123 tests have been administered with 129 positive test results.

Testing Update Nov. 6
LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Over the past week, the University of Louisville Athletics' COVID-19 testing program has administered 998 tests to student-athletes, coaches and staff with 23 positive tests from that group. Over the last 11 weeks, a total of 10,088 tests have been administered with 69 positive test results. Since student-athletes began returning to campus for voluntary activities on June 2, a total of 11,121 tests have been administered with 152 positive test results.

Testing Update Nov. 13
LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Over the past week, the University of Louisville Athletics' COVID-19 testing program has administered 1,623 tests to student-athletes, coaches and staff with nine positive tests from that group. Over the last 12 weeks, a total of 11,711 tests have been administered with 78 positive test results. Since student-athletes began returning to campus for voluntary activities on June 2, a total of 12,744 tests have been administered with 161 positive test results.

Testing Update Nov. 20
LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Over the past week, the University of Louisville Athletics' COVID-19 testing program has administered 1,188 tests to student-athletes, coaches and staff with five positive tests from that group. Over the last 13 weeks, a total of 12,899 tests have been administered with 83 positive test results. Since student-athletes began returning to campus for voluntary activities on June 2, a total of 13,932 tests have been administered with 166 positive test results.

Testing Update Nov. 27
LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Over the past week, the University of Louisville Athletics' COVID-19 testing program has administered 782 tests to student-athletes, coaches and staff with four positive tests from that group. Over the last 14 weeks, a total of 13,681 tests have been administered with 87 positive test results. Since student-athletes began returning to campus for voluntary activities on June 2, a total of 14,714 tests have been administered with 170 positive test results.

Testing Update Dec. 4
LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Over the past week, the University of Louisville Athletics' COVID-19 testing program has administered 1,029 tests to student-athletes, coaches and staff with four positive tests from that group. Over the last 15 weeks, a total of 14,710 tests have been administered with 91 positive test results. Since student-athletes began returning to campus for voluntary activities on June 2, a total of 15,743 tests have been administered with 174 positive test results.

Testing Update Dec. 11
LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Over the past week, the University of Louisville Athletics' COVID-19 testing program has administered 1,004 tests to student-athletes, coaches and staff with eight positive tests from that group. Over the last 16 weeks, a total of 15,714 tests have been administered with 99 positive test results. Since student-athletes began returning to campus for voluntary activities on June 2, a total of 16,747 tests have been administered with 182 positive test results.

Testing Update Dec. 18
LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Over the past week, the University of Louisville Athletics' COVID-19 testing program has administered 509 tests to student-athletes, coaches and staff with 16 positive tests from that group. Over the last 17 weeks, a total of 16,223 tests have been administered with 115 positive test results. Since student-athletes began returning to campus for voluntary activities on June 2, a total of 17,256 tests have been administered with 198 positive test results.

Testing Update Jan. 15
LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Over the past four weeks, the University of Louisville Athletics' COVID-19 testing program has administered 2,170 tests to student-athletes, coaches and staff with 25 positive tests from that group. Since student-athletes began returning to campus for voluntary activities on June 2, a total of 19,426 tests have been administered with 223 positive test results. Figures were not readily available during the holidays and updates have resumed this week.

Testing Update Jan. 22
LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Over the past week, the University of Louisville Athletics' COVID-19 testing program has administered 1,089 tests to student-athletes, coaches and staff with four positive tests from that group. Since student-athletes began returning to campus for voluntary activities on June 2, a total of 20,515 tests have been administered with 227 positive test results.

Testing Update Jan. 29
LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Over the past week, the University of Louisville Athletics' COVID-19 testing program has administered 947 tests to student-athletes, coaches and staff with four positive tests from that group. Since student-athletes began returning to campus for voluntary activities on June 2, a total of 21,462 tests have been administered with 231 positive test results.

Testing Update Feb. 5
LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Over the past week, the University of Louisville Athletics' COVID-19 testing program has administered 1,155 tests to student-athletes, coaches and staff with four positive tests from that group. Since student-athletes began returning to campus for voluntary activities on June 2, a total of 22,617 tests have been administered with 235 positive test results.

Testing Update Feb. 12
LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Over the past week, the University of Louisville Athletics' COVID-19 testing program has administered 976 tests to student-athletes, coaches and staff with 12 positive tests from that group. Since student-athletes began returning to campus for voluntary activities on June 2, a total of 23,593 tests have been administered with 247 positive test results.

Testing Update Feb. 19
LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Over the past week, the University of Louisville Athletics' COVID-19 testing program has administered 1,207 tests to student-athletes, coaches and staff with three positive tests from that group. Since student-athletes began returning to campus for voluntary activities on June 2, a total of 24,800 tests have been administered with 250 positive test results.

Testing Update Feb. 26
LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Over the past week, the University of Louisville Athletics' COVID-19 testing program has administered 1,134 tests to student-athletes, coaches and staff with two positive tests from that group. Since student-athletes began returning to campus for voluntary activities on June 2, 2020, a total of 25,934 tests have been administered with 252 positive test results.

Testing Update March 5
LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Over the past week, the University of Louisville Athletics' COVID-19 testing program has administered 940 tests to student-athletes, coaches and staff with two positive tests from that group. Since student-athletes began returning to campus for voluntary activities on June 2, 2020, a total of 26,874 tests have been administered with 254 positive test results.

Testing Update March 12
LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Over the past week, the University of Louisville Athletics' COVID-19 testing program has administered 1,269 tests to student-athletes, coaches and staff with no positive tests from that group. Since student-athletes began returning to campus for voluntary activities on June 2, 2020, a total of 28,143 tests have been administered with 254 positive test results.

Testing Update March 19
LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Over the past week, the University of Louisville Athletics' COVID-19 testing program has administered 1,311 tests to student-athletes, coaches and staff with one positive test from that group. Since student-athletes began returning to campus for voluntary activities on June 2, 2020, a total of 29,454 tests have been administered with 255 positive test results.

Testing Update March 26
LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Over the past week, the University of Louisville Athletics' COVID-19 testing program has administered 1,062 tests to student-athletes, coaches and staff with two positive tests from that group. Since student-athletes began returning to campus for voluntary activities on June 2, 2020, a total of 30,516 tests have been administered with 257 positive test results.

Testing Update April 2
LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Over the past week, the University of Louisville Athletics' COVID-19 testing program has administered 1,128 tests to student-athletes, coaches and staff with one positive test from that group. Since student-athletes began returning to campus for voluntary activities on June 2, 2020, a total of 31,644 tests have been administered with 258 positive test results.

Testing Update April 9
LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Over the past week, the University of Louisville Athletics' COVID-19 testing program has administered 791 tests to student-athletes, coaches and staff with no positive tests from that group. Since student-athletes began returning to campus for voluntary activities on June 2, 2020, a total of 32,435 tests have been administered with 258 positive test results.

Testing Update April 16
LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Over the past week, the University of Louisville Athletics' COVID-19 testing program has administered 816 tests to student-athletes, coaches and staff with one positive test from that group. Since student-athletes began returning to campus for voluntary activities on June 2, 2020, a total of 33,251 tests have been administered with 259 positive test results.

Testing Update April 23
LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Over the past week, the University of Louisville Athletics' COVID-19 testing program has administered 624 tests to student-athletes, coaches and staff with one positive test from that group. Since student-athletes began returning to campus for voluntary activities on June 2, 2020, a total of 33,875 tests have been administered with 260 positive test results.

Testing Update May 7
LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Over the past two weeks, the University of Louisville Athletics' COVID-19 testing program has administered 658 tests to student-athletes, coaches and staff with no positive tests from that group. Since student-athletes began returning to campus for voluntary activities on June 2, 2020, a total of 34,533 tests have been administered with 260 positive test results.

Testing Update May 14
LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Over the past week, the University of Louisville Athletics' COVID-19 testing program has administered 269 tests to student-athletes, coaches and staff with no positive tests from that group. Since student-athletes began returning to campus for voluntary activities on June 2, 2020, a total of 34,802 tests have been administered with 260 positive test results.

Testing Update May 28
LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Over the past two weeks, the University of Louisville Athletics' COVID-19 testing program has administered 155 tests to student-athletes, coaches and staff with one positive test from that group. Over the last nine weeks, 3,625 tests have been administered with four positive test results. Since student-athletes began returning to campus for voluntary activities on June 2, 2020, a total of 34,957 tests have been administered with 261 positive test results. This will be the last update provided on testing.
