Randy Wilson will join the Cardinals in the fall of 2019
University of Louisville men's tennis head coach Rex Ecarma has announced that Randy Wilson has signed a National Letter-of-Intent to join the Cardinals in the fall of 2019.
"Randy Wilson is a dynamic tennis player with great speed, serve and forehand," said Ecarma. "When he is on, he can play with any junior player in the country. He reminds me of former Cardinal Tennis great Damar Johnson, who was ranked in the top 50 in singles and Top 10 in doubles before he graduated UofL. He also plays with a high sense of confidence. He will be a vocal leader for the Cardinals as soon as he arrives."
Â
The Miami, Florida native plays for Miami Palmetto Senior High School and helped his team to the Florida State Championship. He carries 5-star rating by tennisrecruiting.net and ranked No. 37 nationally in the class of 2019. Wilson brings an impressive resume which includes a USA National Level 3 Singles title won in Ft. Myers, Fla., a Level 2 championship in Key Biscayne, Fla., and a semifinal showing at the Coral Gables, ITF Tournament.
Â
"I chose to play for Coach Rex Ecarma because I felt we really connected with each other right away," said Wilson. "I chose Louisville because when on my official visit I met the staff and everyone involved with the team as well as the campus, I was sold. Everyone was so nice to me and that night when I returned to my hotel room, I decided that this is the place I want to be."
