
Swimmer Wins Junior World Championship

University of Louisville swimming and diving freshman Grigory Tarasevich, won the Junior World Championship in Dubai, UAE in the 50-meter backstroke in 25.44 representing his native country of Russia.
He added that victory to an already impressive list of wins that include the Russian Junior National title (26.1), along with the European Junior title (25.4).
"Grigory continues to perform as one of the best young backstrokers in the world," U ofL head coach Arthur Albiero said, "Being crowned a Junior World Champion is no small feat. More importantly, we are excited to watch his growth and development in the next four years."
Tarasevich will look to make an immediate impact for the team as they begin their season with a home meet against Xavier on Oct. 11 at 5pm in Ralph Wright Natatorium.
