Louisville Notes
Team Notes
- Sunday's game was the fifth all-time meeting between Louisville and Middle Tennessee State. The Cardinals are now 4-1 against the Blue Raiders.
- Louisville made their 16th NCAA Tournament appearance, their eighth appearance in the last nine seasons and their third consecutive.
- The Cardinals are 23-23 against the Sun Belt Conference, with Sunday's game against the Blue Raiders being the first time Louisville has played an opponent from the Sun Belt in the NCAA Tournament.
- Louisville's 18 steals ranks as the second most steals all-time in an NCAA Tournament game.
- The Cardinals finished the game with four players in double-digit scoring, which marks the eighth time this season.
- Louisville improves to 7-7 when out rebounded by the opponent as Middle Tennessee State won the rebounding edge 42-36.
- The Cardinals' 25 point scoring margin ranks as the third largest margin in an NCAA Tournament game.
- Louisville held the Blue Raiders to 49 total points, the 14th opponent this season held under 50 points. It also ranks as the third fewest points allowed in an NCAA Tournament game.

Individual Notes:
- Junior Shoni Schimmel led the Cardinals in scoring with 20 points going 9 of 15 from the floor. This marks the 26th game this season she has eclipsed the double-digit scoring mark.
- Senior Monique Reid contributed 15 points off the bench, the first time she has scored double figures since Jan. 12 against Providence.
- Sophomore Bria Smith led the way on the glass pulling down 10 rebounds, which ties her career-high. She also finished with 10 points, registering her second career double-double and the first one this season.
- Smith finished the game with six assists, which ties her season high.
Middle Tennessee Notes
Team Notes:
- Middle Tennessee concluded its season with a 25-8 record after its 74-49 loss to Louisville.
- The Blue Raiders made their school-record fifth-straight NCAA Tournament appearance on Sunday afternoon. However, Middle Tennessee has not advanced to the second round since the 2006-07 season.
- Sunday also marked Middle Tennessee's 16th tournament appearance.
- Middle Tennessee made just three of its first 10 shots but made six of its next 10 field goal attempts.
- After being down 20-3, Middle Tennessee outscored Louisville 34-18 to cut the deficit to one at 38-37 at the 11:56 mark of the second half. The Cardinals then outscored the Blue Raiders 36-12 for the remainder of the game.
- Middle Tennessee had a 42-36 rebounding edge.
Individual Notes:
- Today marked the fourth time Rick Insell squared off against the Cardinals as a head coach. Insell sports a 1-3 mark against Louisville.
- Senior Icelyn Elie secured her 700th career rebound in the second half.
- Junior Ebony Rowe entered the NCAA Tournament 10th in the country with 20 double-doubles. She notched her 21st double-double of the season with a free throw with 3:27 remaining in the game. Rowe finished with 12 points and 12 rebounds.
- Seven of Rowe's 12 rebounds came on the offensive end of the floor.
- Junior Laken Leonard came into the game averaging 4.3 points and 3.6 rebounds this season. She finished with eight points and eight rebounds.
- The Blue Raiders had four players secure six or more rebounds in Rowe (12), Leonard (8), Elie (7) and sophomore Shanice Cason (6).
