DeLucca Named National Swimmer of the Week

Winning the Counsilman Hunsaker Men's Division I Swimmer of the Week is Louisville Senior Joao De Lucca (Sao Paulo Brazil).
A defending NCAA champion, De Lucca had a strong performance in an upset victory for the No. 19 Cardinals as they beat No. 12 Tennessee for the first time in school history, winning 167.5-132.5. De Lucca had two individual victories, in the 100-yard and 200-yard freestyle, while placing second in the 50-yard freestyle. De Lucca swam the 100-yard freestyle in 44.02, the top time in the NCAA thus far, while swimming the fifth best time in the NCAA with a 1:37.44 in the 200 freestyle. Both results were NCAA 'B' cuts. De Lucca is a multiple time winner of the CollegeSwimming.com Counsilman Hunsaker Swimmer of the week and was also named the American Athletic Conference Swimmer of the Week.
