
Swimming and Diving Complete Day Three of Purdue Invitational

The University Louisville swimming and diving team completed the final day of the Purdue Invitational with the women finishing as runner up and the men took third after three days of competition Sunday in W. Lafayette.
"We battled hard but fell just short," said U of L head coach Arthur Albiero. "I am very proud of the team. Our freshman definitely had a good impact this weekend."
In the 200-back, freshman Krissie Brandenburg posted a victory with an NCAA B-cut time and a school record swim of 1:57.32. In the men's 200-back, Pedro Oliveira touched second with a time of 1:49.16.
Therese Bergstrom won the 200-breast with a time of 2:12.07 and a school record.
The men swept the top four spots in the 200-breast with Carlos Almeida taking top honors in 2:00.06. Kameron Chastain was second in 2:02.08 and Ryan Cox was third in 2:05. Kenneth Crapse was hot in his wake, with a fourth place finish in 2:05.95.
Pedro Oliveira hit the wall first in 1:47.58 and a B-cut. Charlie Bolgan won the grueling 1650-free with a time of 15.28.34, good for an NCAA B-cut.
