It was a night of lifetime bests after Day 3 concluded for the University of Louisville Cardinal swimmers at the 2009 ConocoPhillips National Championships and World Championship Swim Trials at the Indiana University Natatorium on the campus of IUPUI in Indianapolis.
The U of L sprinters made a strong showing as Whitney Campbell went 25.70 and Kris Findorff went 22.68 in the 50m freestyle. Leslie VanWinkle finished tenth in the 400m IM with a time of 4:46.25. All three swims were lifetime bests.
"This was a great evening for U of L swimming," said U of L coach Arthur Albiero. "This meet has been a great measure of our improvement as a program. We are certainly improving by leaps and bounds."
This competition is the selection meet which determines the U.S. National Team that will compete at the 2009 World Championships in Rome from July 22-August 2.
