
Women's Basketball Travels to No. 13 West Virginia

Morgantown, WVa. - The University of Louisville women's basketball team will play No. 13 West Virginia on Saturday, March 1 at 2:00 p.m. The game will be broadcast live on BIG EAST TV, which will be broadcast locally on LOUNet (formerly WYCS-24).
Junior Angel McCoughtry leads the team in scoring and rebounding with 23.6 points and 8.7 rebounds per game. Candyce Bingham is second on the team in scoring and rebounding with 14.3 points and 7.1 rebounds per game. Senior point guard Patrika Barlow leads the team and the league in assists with 7.0 per game.
West Virginia enters the game with an overall record of 22-5 and are third place in the BIG EAST with a record of 11-3. The Mountaineers are 10-1 at home with only a one point loss against DePaul. Senior center Olayinka Sanni leads the Mountaineers in scoring and rebounding with 16.7 points and 7.4 rebounds per game. Senior LaQuita Owens is second on the team in scoirng with 13.7 points per game and Meg Bulger is third with 13.3 points per game.
The game will be just the fifth meeting between the two teams. West Virginia holds a 3-1 edge in the series over the Cardinals. Louisville defeated the Mountaineers 68-56 in the quarterfinals of the BIG EAST Tournament last season for their first win in the series. Last season in Louisville the Mountaineers spoiled the Cardinals perfect home record with a 76-71 overtime defeat. The last time the two teams meet in Morgantown, the Mountaineers handed the Cardinals their worst defeat in the series (99-73).
