
Vali Preda Gains NCAA Finals in 100-Breast

Sophomore swimmer Vali Preda set a lifetime best and broke a school record in the 100-breast to gain the finals at the NCAA Division I Men's Swimming and Diving Championships at the University of Minnesota Aquatic Center in Minneapolis, Minn. .
Preda posted a time of 53.63 to qualify 13th for the Cardinals.
"This is arguably one of the most competitive NCAA Finals ever," said Arthur Albiero, who coached two-time NCAA champion Stefan Gherghel as an assistant at Alabama. "The meet is so deep, one of the best ever. We are thrilled to be here and being competitive not just happy to make an appearance in the meet."
