LOUISVILLE, Ky. - The University of Louisville officially opened its newest on-campus facility on Wednesday afternoon at the Yum! Center Dedication Ceremony. The ceremony included U of L president Dr. James Ramsey, U of L Board of Trustees treasurer Sandra Metts Snowden, U of L Vice President and Director of Athletics Tom Jurich, Yum! Brands Inc., Chairman and CEO David Novak, U of L women's lacrosse coach Kellie Young, U of L volleyball junior Kristie Wetterer and U of L men's basketball head coach Rick Pitino.
The Yum! Center, which officially opened in August of 2007, houses training facilities and offices for the Cards' men's basketball, women's volleyball and women's lacrosse teams. The total cost of the facility, which is located on South Floyd St., on the U of L campus and is more than 60,000-square-feet in size, was $15.2 million.
