University of Louisville sophomore swimmer, Vali Preda, helped set a new national record for Romania in the 4x100 meters medley relay at the European Championships in Budapest, Hungary.
The three-time BIG EAST Champion was a crucial part of the Romanian 4 x 100 Meters Medley Relay by splitting a time of 1:00.93 which is the 6th fastest breaststroke split at the Championships en route to establishing a new Romanian Record.
"Remarkably Vali has already made some significant improvements in a relatively short period. There is no question he has natural talent, but his attention to detail has made a difference. His swims at the European Championships are a testament of that....he has become a World Class Athlete", said U of L head coach Arthur Albiero.
