University of Louisville freshman swimmer, Vali Preda, improved two spots from his preliminary swim with a 13th place finish in the 200-breaststroke at the 2006 NCAA Swimming and Diving Championships hosted by Georgia Tech Saturday evening in Atlanta, Ga.
Preda, who competed in two events, accumulated enough points for the Cardinals to finish ranked 41st in the nation. He posted a time of 1:58.42, improving two spots from this morning's prelim swim.
"This was a great experience, no question," said Arthur Albiero, U of L head coach. "It is great recognition for the program to not just participate in the championship, but to score. It puts us with the elite programs in the country."
