
No. 16 Cardinals Roll Past Belmont, 80-51

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (AP) -- Chauntise Wright scored 21 points and added seven rebounds to lead No. 16 Louisville to an 80-51 win over Belmont on Saturday at Freedom Hall.
Helen Johnson scored 14 points after sitting out a five-game suspension for violating team rules and Angel McCoughtry had 13 points and eight rebounds as Louisville (11-0) remained unbeaten.
Shaunda Strayhorn led Belmont (7-3) with 12 points, but leading scorer Alysha Clark managed just nine points, seven below her season average.
The Cardinals shot 44 percent from the floor while holding Belmont to 30 percent shooting from the field. The Bruins turned the ball over 23 times, leading to 24 Louisville points. The Cardinals had been averaging over 17 turnovers a game but gave it away just 10 times against Belmont.
Thirteen Cardinals played and 10 scored as Louisville continued the best start in school history. Louisville has won 12 straight at Freedom Hall and is 32-2 at home over the last three seasons.
