The University of Louisville swimmers had a strong showing in the 400m-Medley relay, finishing fifth in a star-studded field.
Andrei Teudean, Vali Preda, Adam Madarassy and Carlos Van Isschot finished fifth in the relay with Michael Phelps leading the way in the field for Wolverine Aquatics. The team from Michigan, Alabama and Scotland's national team touched just ahead of the Cardinals.
"It is just great to compete at this level and perform on both a national and international stage," said U of L coach Arthur Albiero.
The Cardinals will continue competition Saturday morning.
"We are going through the 200s of the strokes and we should have a great outing," said Albiero."We are young but we are attracting notice in this meet."
