Freshman Adam Madarassy set another school record in the 200-fly to advance to the finals in tonight's session in the NCAA Championships in Minneapolis.
"It was a stunning swim. He obliterated his own record and swam a 1:44.98." said U of L head coach Arthur Albiero. "He swam a smart, smart race.
Madarassy was seeded No. 18 in the race and improved to No. 10. It is the first time a U of L swimmer has advance to the finals.
"This speaks volumes for the future of our program," said Albiero.
This is the second event Madarassy has competed in. He set a school record in the 100-fly at the NCAA Championships on Friday afternoon. He qualified at No. 35 and improved an impressive five spots to No. 30 with a time of 47.99.
